In this video, we introduce the Alpha DT2 – a modern locator designed for detecting underground cables and pipelines. The device works in both passive mode, detecting power and radio signals, and active mode, using a signal generator with a wide frequency range from 512 Hz to 200 kHz.
Main features and specifications:
- Operating frequency: 512 Hz – 200 kHz
- Maximum detection depth: up to 20 m
- Display: high-resolution color LCD with backlight
- Working modes: peak, valley, wide peak, peak-distance arrow mode
- Automatic external accessory recognition
- Water and dust protection: IP65
- Battery life: up to 10 hours on a full charge
- Operating temperature: -20 °C to +70 °C
During the video, we also explain what different frequencies mean (512 Hz, 8 kHz, 33 kHz, etc.) and why they are important in different situations – both for cable and pipeline locating.
